Online Therapy / Telehealth Therapy / Video Counseling
Dr. Swann is excited to offer online therapy services throughout the state of North Carolina & internationally, using HIPAA compliant telemedicine software. She uses a secure & simple program that allows therapists to provide confidential video counseling sessions with clients all over NC.

What is Online Therapy?
Through online therapy clients can work through various mental health challenges and to get support for many other concerns to identify solutions that can improve your life and well-being. Dr. Swann utilizes a safe & secure client portal that allows multi-participants in a session (as in the case with couples and family sessions) who may not be in same location. Online therapy works great for individuals who are very familiar with utilizing technology. You also have the flexibility to use online therapy during personal or family illness.

What are the benefits and limitations of Online Therapy?
Online Therapy allows clients to schedule at their convenience, even if you’re traveling within North Carolina. You will have access to an experienced counselor even if you don’t have transportation. You don’t have to deal with traffic or sit in a waiting room with other people. It is as confidential as seeing a therapist in-person or in-office.

To receive counseling services, you must be residing in the state of North Carolina. Dr. Swann cannot provide therapy for individuals and families living out-of-state. You must be in a private, distraction-free environment during sessions (private room, where others are not intruding on your conversation).

How do I know if Online Therapy is right for me?
If you’re uncomfortable with using technology or the idea of online therapy, you can request a free 10-minute consultation session. You can also evaluate after our initial session whether online therapy is right for you. Most people find online therapy to be quite easy and convenient after their first session as it helps to overcome initial discomfort or any worry about using technology.
